Yunus Emre Enstitüsü 2017 Turkish Summer School Took Start


Yunus Emre Enstitüsü that brings Turkish language and culture to all four corners of the world with its educational and cultural activities, teaches tens of thousands of people Turkish language every year. The trainees who successfully completed the Turkish language courses organized abroad by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, and the foreign students studying in Turcology departments in universities abroad, came to Turkey as part of the "Turkish Summer School". 700 students and trainees from 57 countries will visit numerous historical, geographical and cultural destinations during the month-long Turkish language course, and participate in cultural workshops such as marbling, pottery, cooking, baglama, folk dances.

Grand Closing Ceremony at the Presidential Complex

Turkish Summer School program to be organized by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü for the 8th time this year, will take place in 22 different cities of Turkey. Students will be hosted by 23 universities, and as part of the program, students will receive Turkish instruction in Erzurum, Rize, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Sivas, Istanbul, Afyon, Isparta, Sakarya, Karabük, Eskişehir, Kütahya, Bursa, Bolu, Ankara, Giresun, Samsun, Karaman, Konya, Aydın, İzmir and Nevşehir and participate in cultural excursions. The closing ceremony of the program will be held under the auspices of Turkish Presidency. Students who successfully complete the program, will deliver messages of peace to the world through the language of Yunus Emre.

Bridge Between Hearts Built through Turkish

Yunus Emre Enstitüsü President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş stated that they offer services in a total of 135 points in 60 countries as the Enstitü. Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş marked that they aim for world people to know Turkey better through correct sources, and that Turkish Summer School is a program of major importance they organize in line with this goal.

Prof. Dr. Ateş said, “Numerous activities are organized with the aim of promoting Turkish culture and arts, and we represent Turkey in national and international events. Thanks to these activities that embrace all colours of our culture, we get the opportunity to establish direct contact with hundreds of thousands of people and to explain ourselves. Our students who learn Turkish in courses, blend this with Anatolian culture and the bridges between hearts and nations are reinforced with Turkish.”

Cultural envoys explain Turkey through social media

Turkish Summer School participants compete with each other on the social media to share their experiences about Turkish culture, art, history and language and to promote natural, historical and cultural beauties of Turkey. The contest with the theme “Turkey through the eyes of students” is held in article, photography and video categories. Participants from numerous countries as Egypt, Austria, Algeria and Kosovo share their observations with #RotamTürkiye hashtag via social media accounts. Various prizes await students who share their observations and feelings with #RotamTürkiye hashtag.
